Best way around DVD regions?

What's the best programme to get around DVD region security on my laptop? I don't usually watch DVDs, but got given a couple I wouldn't mind watching, and only have 1 region change left on the player.

I've tried Remote Selector, but both versions I tried instantly crash when trying to use it. Good times!

Good work media industry, make things impossible for legitimate consumers who just want to watch their fucking DVD's.


Sorry not much help. I simply don't use DVD's

or anyDVD(or something similar) + vlc media player. nodvd makes the computer think its a data dvd rather than a movie and then vlc can play the files directly. only thing is working out which files to watch but that isnt hard.

first one decrypts on the fly second rips to hard drive

neither are as good as anydvd but they have the advantage of being free

however anydvd has a fully functional 30 day trial which might suffice if this is just a once off problem
