best venue ?

What does everyone think is the best venue in Chch ?

I need some ideas...

hmmm, I think thats just up to the individual. Personally I like Heaven & Ministry. Hybrid is pretty good as well. For some reason I've just never liked Base, no idea why!

The Base has the suckiest, most awkward dancefloor I've ever seen. Layout is a huge contributor to the overall vibe

yeah my money is on the ministry, still waiting for that right club to come along. Hybrid is good except when they have that stupid fence up, looks real tacky. and it is mish to get to the dance floor when it's packed. Others wise a good place to party.

Hey wat do you people think of tha sounds at Ministry etc.. i dont mean tha music i mean tha actual sound system, speakers and crap?

the in house system is ok especialy as its about ten years old but you will find moast promoters will stick an extra system in like at nic warren lucien foort and will be in use at unity as well then i rekon it sounds fukin awsome

Base is only good when they have a live act
(shapeshifter, Solaa - R.I.P) in and they clear out
all the tables and chairs. This way it feels more
like a venue, where as with a dj, there sort up a
bit and over there just a little and it feels awkward.

I prefer Ministry then Hybrid, as i like to have
more people for big parties. I still havent seen
what the inside of the church is like, though i see
it as a bit of a trance- happy , middle of the road
dance extension of the strip. Just me though

Definitely Nelson. Only 5hrs drive from central city, and you dont have to put up with the chaos and negativity of chch, + chch peeps

DESTINATION

I have to agree with the Ministry vote. Especially when they bring in the big sound rigs for the DnB gigs. Best thing about it is the low cieling and the closeness of the DJ, they really add to the atmospher.

Hybrid I like, sometimes, hate the fence, hate the place especially when its not chocka, but usually is quite good. Need to have a better view of the DJ tho.

I agree that Base is pretty disgusting... layout sucks.

Heaven: I quite like the vibe there, especially for house music.

Solaa for Alpine Unity - this changes everything .
Solaa and Shapeshifter are two of the best dance
acts in NZ, what a mssaive lineup !
