Hey can anyone give me any info on this? I bunged my 3rd rib a month or so back and wondering how i should proceed.....

A month is not long enough to start back on the bench press, imo. Ribs are easy to aggravate. I would take it easy for now and not do bench at all, until the pain is gone completely. Do some light cardio, like bike, instead. With ribs damaged, I wouldn't do any big leg exercises either, because you must use your core when doing a squat, for example... I hope this helps.

Any exercise involving gulping massive amounts of oxygen should be avoided. Spreading that rib cavity will be a real pain to say the least. Even sitting on a bike with hands on handle bars might be a bit uncomfortable.

God I remember dislocating my shoulder then trying to get back to benching too early. Not the smartest thing I've ever done.

Well, theres pretty much no pain. Im already back playing sports, and theres been no problems.

It wasnt a major break, just a small crack.

So, i should leave it for another week or two, then start light do you think?

Start light. Listen to your body - if it starts hurting at all, stop.

I'd be inclined to use a machine for a while for the extra support until you're sure you can handle the bench.
