alright now i know there may be some wack ass white people out there puting us all to shame by rockin out eminem in there starlets crusing up queen street stating they are gangstah and from the north shore ghetto..
BuT there are a few of us that are clued up on hiphop and DO actually get into it in a big way.
now i am sick of rockin it to a hiphop club/gig and gettin the evil eyes from the big ass gangstah bitches as if i dont know wassup!
why is there so much hatred towards ppl like me when i respect the culture and dont go out of my way to be an eat ass wigga "gangstah".

one time i rocked out to this gig and was quite dressed up cause i was goin out somewhere else after and i got looked at like i was scum!
then next week rocked it to the same place but wore my lil ralph lauren jumper and jeans and i was sweet!
so wearing a lo makes me more clued up on hiphop? WTF!
people just make assumptions on my knowledge of hiphop because im white and thats not fuckin fair!

It hasn't been a problem for me, most people seem friendly to me at hiphop gigs (though primarily only go to fu, maybe its different elsewhere?). I don't bother dressing 'hiphop' at all because I'm obviously a geeky white dude regardless of what I'm wearing, so I just wear whatever.

I think its just mindset really.if you wanna make it an issue it becomes one

I mean if you out there rocking your gears, listening to music you love and having a good time fuck what they think.
The fact is you probly have far more knowledge than them and this enables you to appreciate the music it even more; than just some random trying to be cool dudes.

anyway, I got some evil looks at a club in Birmingham caus I was one of the only white dudes in there, but a few evil looks is all I got , and had a mean crank to sum phat UK garage!

I get the mad weird looks as a short, thin, white guy wearing tight fade jeans and tight Ts at hip hop gigs. :p

But that's hardly surprising, right?

I dunno, it's no different than if you turned up at an HH gig ghettoed out with medallions, ripped baggies and an oversized basketball top or something - you'd still get the weird looks.

Generally, I just go to the DnB / hip hop crossover gigs for that reason though, feel a bit uncomfortable at the pure hip hop gigs. And besides, I'm usually going alone since none of my mates are into their hip hop - so one always feels a little out of place in such circumstances.

Who cares anyway, the less you tell yourself its a problem, the less it is, even if teh Footsouljahs crew do yell specifically in your face when rhyming at you in the front of the crowd.

i think ganster rap will always make it hard for certain people to b accepted in the seen when its all about this and that "the big N werd". however more comercial tunes and tunes by artist such as jurassic 5, bep etc are making alot more esier to be accepted into the seen cos they are soo much more upbeat so to say, and dont really target the innfluencing but shrinking supporters of ganster hip hop.
