The Berlin Wall throughout the years acted as a unique canvas for a city split by social and physical divide. The fall of the wall on 9 November 1989 heralded a new beginning for Berlin, propelling a city that was once a symbol of separation into a city of reinvention and inspiration for the 21st Century.

20 years on, Berlin's heart pulses with creativity, through distinct music and cultural innovation. Beck's is celebrating 20 years of inspiration from Berlin, a city without walls. The Beck's Berlin Sessions is a unique program of events and exclusive content, focused on the constantly changing creativity of Berlin. The events, and their content, combine elements of expression and presentation with cutting edge electronic music.

Beck's rich heritage, and support for creative culture within Germany, is creating opportunity for New Zealand to combine with Berlin, through nightlife experiences in Auckland and Wellington.

Commemorating the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, “Inspiration Through Unification” is the theme, which means this November’s Beck’s Berlin Sessions tour launch arrives perfectly in coordination.

First International: Âme, whose Innervisions label continues to be a shining light on this planet's house and techno. He’s equally as famous for the chart exploding "Rej", compilations like Fabric 42, and much more. This artist is credited as one of the key players in 2009's sound, whilst highly regarded in the books of electronic music.

Second International: Benji Frohlich, founder of the Permanent Vacation label, responsible for early work of heavyweights like Aeroplane, Holy Ghost!, Lindstrøm, Joakim, and Todd Terje since starting. Benji's is the driving force of Germany's indie, dance, and space disco sounds. Now in full fashion and appeal, expect a divine concoction of balaeric disco affairs and deep house.

BECK'S BERLIN SESSIONS

With stunning artists and fantastic event production, the Beck's Berlin Sessions aims to re-create and showcase what makes Berlin the electronic music capital of the world.

This event also takes advice from organizers at venues such as Bar 25 and Watergate, partners at highly regarded record labels and the Goethe Institut. With their expertise we look to bring these events to life both musically but mainly in feel by use of exciting performers, visual set ups, great production, and of course in-event surprises. All in aim to achieve the atmosphere of the city's famous and loved nightlife.
