Beach Cricket

Why are we so freakin awesome at Beach Cricket and yet so arse otherwise? We kicked ass in the XXXX whatsit tournament against Oz and South Africa.

I smugly enjoyed watching the Ozzies get defeated yesterday, especially when they're the ones with all the beaches to practice on. Ha!

Not that good really. Got destoyed by Eng and Aus in last years beach cricket series!

Very entertaining viewing. I hope the SA/Oz 20/20 tomorrow is better than last night's game

Was that just in a couple of games they lost last year?

The commentators seemed to keep on referring to NZ as the defending champions?

Martin Crowe
Danny Morrisson

My theory for NZ doing so well, is they have players that have only just retired like McMillan/Astle that are still in reasonable form. And the other guys are all in good physical condition (apart from Greatbatch). Nash's bowling was setting them up as well with the wickets.

Plus a couple of innings yesterday Crowe was playing some brilliant shots showing the talent he was.

I went to the Perth and Sydney games last year and NZ only lost the one in Perth to Eng.

Had Hadlee and Patel in the team as well last year.

I thought they kept saying we were defending champs, but didn't watch last years so wasn't sure.

Well, rubbing an aussie's nose in the sand is always good times. We need something to cheer about.

Fleming faces first maiden over ever in beach cricket ...what a plonker Especially with Astle at the other end barely facing a ball in their two overs.

Where was Crowe? He has devastating last week with the bat.

Nobody really tries that hard, they're all pretty much taking the piss. Good fun to watch though.

Dunno. Some of them are pretty competitive.

None of those top players even now they are retired would ever be happy with losing.

NZ back to dominating today. Restricted Aussie to 46 runs then got the total in only 4.0 overs.
