About the club:

Be.
Nightclub. Lounge. Studio

A brand new, low lit underground venue located at the foundations of Commerce street.

Opening this May, Be will be taking weekends back to what clubbing is all about. One room, resident DJs and a real focus on clubnights. The events we do play host to from time to time will be select, and our international guest DJs carefully chosen to fit in with the direction of the club itself.

The goal? To create a club that grabs you. To generate an environment where guests are provided with quality music, drink selection, staff and atmosphere. It’s about being amongst like minded people in a place where you can leave your inhibitions at the door and spend the night - whether it’s on the dancefloor, tucked away in a private seating booth, having a drink at the bar or enjoying the cool night air in the outdoor courtyard.

Founded on the concept it is literally what you want it to be, Be is what you make of it.

About the acts:

MINX

Minx's Bio:Sydney’s DJ Minx is kind of like that firecracker you let off at school when no one was watching: it started out small and you didn't think much would come of it, but before long, things are out of control and you're hiding under your desk trying to work out your next move. Plying her craft for the past four years in her home town of Adelaide, Minx is now letting loose on the national and international stage. Recruited into the Onelove stable in 2006, Minx has held a weekly residency at Onelove/Electric Circus every Friday night as well as serving it up for Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and the Gold Coast. Minx also recently stepped it up in Mykonos, supporting Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso at Paradise Club. Minx also added the festival game into her repertoire, performing at Parklife festival in Adelaide, in 2007 & 2008, Future Music Festival in Adelaide, We Love Sounds in Adelaide, Stereosonic Festival in Melbourne, Stereosonic Festival in Adelaide and Good Vibrations Festival in Sydney. Minx's DJ sets fuse elements of electro, indie, disco, a little bit of house that results in a genre-bending journey helping to leave you a little hazy the morning after and not quite sure how you got home. Minx's talents have also seen her mixing it up for fashion shows by hot right now designers Liza Emanuele (It Girl) and Alex Perry. So as you're hiding under that desk waiting for the f#*king firecracker to burn out, you'd better hope it's running on less gunpowder than DJ Minx!

Computers Want Me Dead LIVE

Computers Want Me Dead is a two-piece electro-synth pop band consisting of Sam Harvey and Damien Daniels. At 18, Sam Harvey was the vocalist in a punk band called the Dark Town Strutters. At 19, he started producing textural electronic music under the moniker ‘Plastic Flowers On Video’. By 21, he had joined a goth/industrial band with long time friends (‘Decoma’), but soon left this band to continue his exploration of music and genre. It was in Los Angeles in 2003 that he discovered his passion for synth-pop. Damien Daniels, who was raised in Hong Kong and is the son of two prominent 80’s TV personalities, spent much of his teenage years listening to ‘intellectual dance music’, and spent a couple of years playing synth and bass in a synth-rock band called ‘The Beautiful Burn’. Sam and Damien met in 2007 at a Christmas party for the music television station they were both working for. A conversation ignited around how jaded they both were with the music TV industry, and they were soon embroiled in a passionate debate about music. With similar tastes and a shared desire for collaboration, they soon ditched the party to trade demos. By early 2008, they had formed a synth band, sharing a common love for synths, drum machines, electro music, and alcohol. Originally a more industrial electro sound, with heavy distortion and gritty textures, Damien's musicianship and Sam's rhythm and production skills fuse electrically, resulting in tunes you’ll be humming after one listen. Computers Want Me Dead is a band to watch.
