The BDO was again a memorable experience. Firstly, good on the promoters for what I thought was slightly greater attention to detail e.g. more lighting in the boiler room. Again, there was a major shortage of rubbish bins and it's actually quite disgusting to walk around/sit down in a place where there is rubbish everywhere. Please, promoters, follow the example of Xmas in the Park.

Unfortunately, Manuel Bundy didn't seem to play and this put a damper on the morning.
Sam Hill played a fairly nice early morning set.. did you ask for that slot so you could drink the rest of the day?
Concord Dawn, House of Downtown were both good. HoD weren't as funky as I hoped, Concord Dawn were better than I expected and kept everything in a party mood. Remember - the BDO should be about anthems, not obscure tracks.
Caught the last 10 minutes of Alien Ant Farm which included their ripoff of a MJ classic. The moshpit wasn't too big, which surprised me as I thought AAF would pack the place out.
Went back to catch P-Money. Unfortunately, as happened last year, his set was delayed. It's getting a bit ridiculous. Caught a few minutes of Kosheen, then went back for P-Money's set. Good, but not great. Too much new hiphop, the biggest cheer came for Gin & Juice into What's My Name, and he again started displaying his scratching skills a little too much. Awesome DJ, but all we wanted to do was dance.
Then the rain came. Caught a few minutes of Shihad who seemed to have played a veyr long set. Then off to Jurassic 5 - the highlight of the night. Entertainers is the best description. A wonderful collection of pass-the-mic mayhem and well-crafted scratch mayhem. Loved the harmonising, loved the whole stage presence. Brilliant.
Missed New Order. Prodigy were fuckign dull and that stage lighting simply made it impossible to see anything on the stage. SOrry Prodigy, you may excite 15yo shoreboys who want something different to Limp Bizkit, but you've lost your edge. Post Prodigy checked out perhaps the 'best' band at BDO, NOFX. However, before they came on Slim played a cracking set of 3 minute almost punkish classics. Beautiful stuff boys and I hope you guys do good things - 10x better than Stellar, the feelers, Betchadupa and Rubicon combined. NOFX were a bit annoying with their between songs banter, but the songs were short, sharp and sweet. A nice late evening wakeup.
Back to the Boiler Room for Basement Jaxx. Far too sweaty - could the promoters PLEASEW keep a few more acts going late to thin the crowds out? BJ were also a disappointment. Just didn't seem to get a solid groove on, and the 'fake encore' was all far too cheesy.

I thought u said the b.d.o was about anthems, and now u rekon b jaxx were cheesy????
[quote]
I said the way they performed a fake encore was cheesy. I'd have preferred cheesy tracks than cheesy stage shows that ruined the mood.

Hey come on, ther is nothing wrong with chicks shakin there asses in g strings hehehe that rocked
[quote]
Yeah, but the whole "we've finished... *pause*.. ok we're back"

fuck stop whinging about shore boys, why the hell do we like prodigy? Not that im anywhere near 15 but i used to be and that sounds like someone is jealous that they didnt grow up on the shore
[quote]
Whats with the g string chicks? Were they punters or proper dancers?
[quote]
Why would I be jealous of shoreboys?
Yes... I wish I had their superb dress sense... cap with everything... pants hanging down around my ankles...

System of the Down are the most amazing live band ever. Too bad about the crush and broken barriers.
[quote]
God you're a critical bastard Vadinho.

If you want people to hear you out you gotta quit sounding like a whiny bitch. You always seem to end on a negative.

"Oh no, fake encore, I know performance better than the Jaxx"

"Too much new hip hop, I really wanted stuff like Gin and Juice all day long"

"NOFX were speaking in between songs"

"Lots of people and still there was SWEAT around the place, prevent it"

Come on dude, stay home next time. Pick holes in sitcoms while you read up on conspiracy theories. Sounds more like your buzz.

And don't get personal with Sam, saying he got an early set so he could "Drink all day" is enough to get dealt to in most parts dude

I had a great time at the BDO. Lost my 2 mates i arrived with after 2 hrs. Met up with Miss Leopard on and off throughout the day as she was working on one of the stands. Cheers for all the goodies kitten. Spent a big part of the day with Zebrat, Crazy and D'Instigator. These 3 are absolutley mad, had a great time and laugh with all of them !

Hope all you guys had a great day. Thanks for making mine amazing !

I had fun fun fun, I thought Basement Jaxx put on a great show, if anything the DJ before was a bit dissapointing, but hey, some may have liked it.
[quote]
Damnit i missed it but the BDO Afterparty was the shizznit, i had a most wicked time.

The rides were realy good, espeially while tripping... They were worth at least $30 fun, J5 were worth another $30, but very little else of note. Sam was good, Dub were good, the kids ruined most of the main stage acts... They broke one of th stages with their over rigous msohing antics.

Waahhooo! what a day, what a night..... saw heaps of good stuff, but basement jaxx really went off - the crowd was going WILD, deafening screaming, the only problem was the heat in the tent by then, and i was pretty stuffed from the previous 9 hours of boogie mania. Also saw samonella dub - they actually had the tent 3/4 full i reckon, regurgatator - the funniest power rock band around, tadpole, house of downtown, greg chruchhill - a very good set too, crystal method - slightly disapointing, mainly because the bpm's dropped a little, the sound was good though, dave clarke was good and very hard house like - this really used up the last of my energy reserves, saw a bit of prodigy and they had the main stage crowd pumping as usual - did seem a little slow after dave clarke though....All in all it was great, I was humming all day and into the morning...it was well organised too, with big water tankers around the place for the ol' free refill - sweet :o)
