Battlefield: Vietnam on sale tommorow

So who's going to buy this game? Any ultra-keen people going to the launch party at Gameplanet tommorow morning? I bet it will be off the hook.. gamers, muffins, restrained chatter, party of the year possibly..

I'll get this game when I get my new pc, I'm more interested in the mods that will come out for BF:V then the game itself

there's storys floating around that Desert Combat (my favourite mod) will be ported over to BF:V.. so that's definately a good reason to purchase the game

I don't really play DC, just FH now hopefully that will get ported...

When I upgrade in a few months I'll definitely be keen to give it a shot, I haven't played any solid online gaming since Q3A and I keep hearing great things about BF1942...

Sounds like there are a few balance issues in the game so it might be worth waiting for the patch but damn, I want to see the napalm in action!!!

well since UT2004 and Far Cry are out as well ill be trying both of them first

I'm also an Xtra server admin, we've put up 3 BFV servers with 32 players.. And an uber server running 64 players. So if your PC doesn't cack itself at the prospect of 64 players, give it a crack. It's off the hook.


Lets not forget classic Battlefield 1942.. It's still going hard And SadAt.. You'll be happy to know that Trauma Studios have been signed by EA. Trauma = Desert Combat. So shortly you'll no doubt see DC all flashed up and moved to the new and pretty engine.

Played it last night, very impressed!

The foilage is very well done, you can crawl through grass and trees and be hidden, makes for great sneaky missions into enemy bases.
The radio feature is kind of cool, you can play different songs when in a vehicle. Already sick of the damn "bird" song.
If you press "q" is shows where your friendly players are plus locations of control points, even shows their distance from you. Really helps when you get a bit disoriented.
The fighting is brutal and fast.
The M60 is very effective, Vietnamese SAMs work well.

Love it!

I'd be wiping the floor with you within a week.

Hehehe, replaced the radio tracks with some nice trance already. It's kinda nice driving around in all that jungle listening to it.

still tho, i'm hoping it's going to run a whole lot smoother after the first inevitable upgrade, to fix a few of those lil bugs.
