Murphy's 4 wins already shows that he's good enough, however he was hurt by his co-driver on Sunday. Co drivers play such an important part in it now that teams can't pair their championship drivers together, so having someone like Skaife or Perkins puts ou at a major advantage over someone who has a European who doesn't know Bathurst and V8 Supercar racing or an Aussie or Kiwi who isn't good enough to race in the V8 Supercar Championship in the first place. Murphy should really be taking to someone like Radisich or Baird now in preparation for next year, as kit wise the Paul Morris car had all the same parts as the two cars that finished one and two.
Given a few more years experience Van Gisbergen could be a contender too, but his inexperience was pretty clear on Sunday.
