Yeah, both are very solid sellers, though you'd be very very hard pressed to find anyone actually dropping anything by these guys in AK (apart from the new electro 12", or some of baileys more techhouse efforts).
i used to play a bit of their stuff but kind off got borred owith it quickly, i found it very samey. its that super low end compression and hand clap combination that i dont quite like.
some of redheads production under the alias 'soulwatcher' is quite cool and different to his redhead output, check it out.
i havent heard of bailey's techhouse efforts yet but i'd be interested.
bailey has been churning out good tunes since i first started playing techno 3yrs or so ago...and yes i would have geussed that nobody in auckland would be playing these styles....shame really..as i belive that the hard(gay)house scene is starting to grow a little tiresome...and hey MAYA i could also quite safely say that there would be nobody up there that could twist out a set anything like yourself or i.....boo hoo for auckland....its a pity aucklanders are so touchy about letting in new talent....as im sure one of our techno bust ups would be the just the change of sound people are looking for....
were not all that touchy about letting in new talent, its just that we dont know what we want. perhaps you could pull yourself out of semi-retierment, get up here and show us all what we are realy looking for. we are in nead of a leader, someone to show us the force.
peace.
na, realise that, but other might not...
wasn't aware of any old policy, let alone new?
Think it's hard to have policies when there's no establishment ;0
haha
great to hear you playing this stuff Matt...
i hope we get to play some tunes together soon.
hope you got the cd...i know it'll be a lil different than whats being dropped up there at the mo....i would appreciate any comments or any addresses to forward cds to...
I wish techno was commercially drooled upon in New Zealand. If only all the diesel shoe cowboys, airplane pilots, hush lunge bar owners, white pant wearers and the fluffly knee high boot brigade could be brainwashed - THEN - I might get to see Chris Liebing in New Zealand..
