BUNGLE BIO
André Sobota is an admired and respected producer in Brazil and worldwide. Representing the second wave of phonographic producers focused on electronic music since de 90's, he has already released about 60 productions in the international market, many of them partnering with great national and international artists.
His personality and musical boldness come from a rich musical background acquired along his life. André started to study music when he was seven years old, and composed his first music at nine. Since then, the guitar became his main instrument and expression means.
The guitarist trajectory was somehow diverted when, after launching his first album with the band Shine, a drum'n'bass collection from DJ Patife, full of jazz and instruments, brought him to electronic music. From then on, as Bungle, he started to produce and launch music of the highest level through great drum'n'bass labels.
His technique and musicality granted him an explosive partnership: on early 2005, Bungle partnered with Marky, the world legend of electronic music. Besides many tracks of their own, they remixed the beautiful Open Your Eyes, from the band Snow Patrol, Back Like That from Ghostface Killah, among many others. They also launched their own music, such as the renowned single No Time To Love, which reached the sixth place on BBC Radio Dance parade and is now one of the ringtones of the newest Samsung mobile phone, the D900 - considered then the thinnest device in the world.
2007 was an intense year. Bungle launched his first album, Down to Earth, by the British label CIA, and started his international DJ career. During 4 European and 1 Japanese tours, he performed in 16 countries and over 30 cities, including large clubs such as The End and Fabric, in London, and Womb, in Tokyo. In Brazil, he performed at important clubs such as Lov.e and The Clash and in festivals such as Skol Beats and Spirit Of London.
This year saw also some important partnerships: he performed works with NGO's such as Bottletop and Greenpeace, with releases side by side with important producers such as Trentemöller and Nu-Tone, and was invited to integrate the Interligados Sound System, a live PA formed by the most renowned producers in Brazil: Gui Boratto, Dudu Marote, Xrs, Nego Moçambique, Jamanta Crew, Dj Zegon, Nuts and Dadda Attack.
2008 started well with his new single included in various top ten: 2nd place at beatport, 4th place at D'n'B arena, 7th place at BBC Radio and 8th place at the Chemical and Redeyes stores. His new project, focused on techno and progressive house, at last gets to the international market with a remix of the track Triads by Anderson Noise and Gui Boratto, and with Black Pearl and Self Constructive, his own tracks. This material is being released by the British label Spectrum Records, a sub-label of the Splinter producer (Deadmau5, Eric Prydz, Adam Beyer, among others) and has the support of great Dj's such as Sasha, Carl Cox, Dubfire, Stephan Bodzin, Steve Angello, Christian Smith, DJ Koot (Cocoon Club), Mauro Piccoto, among others.
He is now competing for the category of best producer by the Brazilian version of the British DJ Mag magazine. Lastly, 2009 is the year to check the product of the new experience of this producer that, at just 26, already conquered many ears around the globe.
