Unlikely that there are any real lurkers in here that might find this of interest, but I'll give it a crack anyway.

I play Aussie Rules for the Mt Roskill Saints, and we're looking for new players. Doesn't matter what your skill level is - we have a seniors team, and a reserves team. There are beginners every year, and the guys do a fair job of getting you up to speed with the game. It's an awesome game for fitness, and has a lot of a rough and tumble that people like from rugby & league. Football players are usually pretty good also, as the kicking can be somewhat of a challenge.

If you like a bit of team sports, or are looking for something to fill up your spring, then hit me up and come down for a run, it's great fun.

Played a few games for North Shore, can confirm Aussie Rules is a hilarious lark Smile I didnt really like wtaching Aussie Rules on TV, but coming from years of football/league and a bit of rugby the utterly unstructured nature of playing Aussie Rules was awesome fun

1st Game (i played before I trained)

Me; "Where do I play and what shall I do?"

Answer "We'll make you a rover. Start in the middle and just run around causing trouble"

Very Happy Good times

sadly....I am retired from all such trouble making Sad

Yeah I play rover as well mate, mostly because I was fit last season and I still struggle with kicking the ball straight. So I just get in there for the collision and try to clear the ball!

Very Happy

Go the Western Bulldogs! I was unable to decide what team to go for in the AFL so we flipped a coin for it on the names I liked! heh ...

I used to play it when I was younger, was good fun! I was a half forward iirc. I'll be playing cricket over the summer tho.

Go the Hawthorn Hawks!

Do you play cricket on Sundays Dale?

There isn't much season crossover anyway...

Potentially, however I tend to sink way more piss over summer so concerned that I might have to miss games due to still drinking from night before.

Runs September 4th til November 13th.

Doesn't even touch on summer.

No excuses!

That's a short season!

Outdoor season starts in October my man. We play on saturdays but training nights will depend on what everyone agrees on when we start. Still, would like at least one day to myself on the weekends! Razz
