I\'ve been outa the contry for a wee while and just resently come back to Auckland. From what I\'ve seen so far the house scene is whack and alot of people need to check their egos and ideas about the music.
It is music and should be made available to everyone. Fair enough the music has gone really commerciall and what not, but for twats to think their bigger than the music, and above other people, with private functions where only the select people who work at this store or know this person or who are in the \"in crowd\" get in, this is wrong and you guys need to check yourselves. never seen such a snoby posy elitest bunch got to question whether your about the music, or about the image? personally feel the image has taken over.
Too many people in it for the wrong reasons, which comes with it moving into the mainstream and being the hottest sound right now, but not just the mainstream it\'s the so called underground(hate the underground label as it brings with it a certain elitest image, but what ever) these underground people think because they wear these clothes, know/shag this person/Dj that they undertstand the music and the scene?
Just really bewildered right now and can\'t understand the scene? If any one can help I need a place where there is good house music, blending old with new, funk with disco, soul,afro-beat, deep, latino beats. Where people dance and enjoy thenselves and interact with other dancers/a good vibe. Just not feeling the scene in auckland from what I have seen. If any one has bothered to read this far- I\'m really feeling urban blues project-we are one.

Hush Loungebar over on the shore, as tiny as all hell, opens early and closes early, but a great vibe esp. in summer with the courtyard sessions and great D.J playing some great tunes

Sounds like you need a good dose of the Grand Circle!

The best part is that no one shouts: "Go you bugger!"
