I don't think the match could be drawn, as the way it usually works (since the year after Aussie left Oceania) is the the Oceania club plays off against the host nations champion for a spot in the competiton proper. Basically Sepp Blatter didn't like an team of semi-pros being at one of his flagship tournaments so changed the way the draw worked to try and exclude Oceania. Well done to Auckland City though, stuck one to Sepp Blatter and will now reap the benefits of being in the World Club Championship.
I saw an interview with Vicelich yesterday and he was obviously confident because at the interview he said 'When we win this, sorry, if we win...' so he must of known that despite the high salaries they pay for 35-40 year old ex-stars the UAE teams were definitely beatable. Makes a mockery of Blatter's dislike of semi-pro teams as well, and anytime anyone gets one over Sepp Blatter is a great day for football, especiallty when a kiwi team does it.
