Auckland breaks world - sinking or swimming???

hi all,

just checking in with a post from overseas...

after having left nz a few years back, it's finally time to head back to the homeland.

anyway, when i left, in 2003, auckland was really starting to get dominated by the "McParty" type scene... the big events with the glamourish names and flashy flyers, playing the big house anthems and catering for the kids graduating from the waterfront and loaded hog.

breaks, (among a lot of other reputable genres) didn't seem to be getting the following it should at the time, or so it appeared to me.

anyway, enough of the moan...

what i'm interested to know is how things are going back in auckland at the mo? how are the clubs? how is the music being played? are the commercial nights still dominating or is good music still to be found?

very interested to hear some thoughts!

Im in chch, but the AK breaks scene seems pretty solid to me

nubreaks at supper is still going every thursday for the last 6? years.

generlly monthly breaks gigs @ Fu with internats (tag promotions)

im still kinda taking pictures.

breakers delight is coming back.
