Hey bro

I remember in a past post about Ipods you mentioned that you got your Ipod from the US.

Well I just got mine sent over from the States too… and mighty stoked, but ahhh cant get it to work yet cos of the whole wrong plug voltage and charging it….

So…

Do you have to buy like a power converter cord (about $80) that change it from 240-110 Volts?

Or does it just work from one of them plug converters ($15) where it just puts 240 straight through it with no conversion?

Cos I just noticed 0n the little Ipod transformer that it says it “100-240” volts does that mean that it changes it automaticallu? And so when traveling all ya need is diff plugs?

I don’t wanna do the second option sending 240 through it and melting the lil’ bastard, but it’s deffinately a shitload cheaper and easier to take around as it’s smaller

Thanks for any help you can give.

If it says 100 - 240 volt then just quietly id say its safe to put 240 volts through it... thats the case with most transformers these days.

Bugger.

you can def. charge an iPod without the charger via Firewire on a Mac.

There may be some third party adaptors?

You could try übertec in Parnell - 358 3801

Dont buy the apple one, your current lil white converter does 240v, the only thing someone like ubertec will sell you is the "world conversion pack" which changes the plug bit that pops out, pop the US one out and look at the connector under it... I managed to find an old cord that went from NZ power plug to some other random converter, plugged it in, worked a treat Smile

Happy listening!! Smile (GU026 copying on to mine now... SHHHH!) Very Happy

or buy a firewire card Smile (its quicker, firewire can maintain the bandwidth, USB has to burst)

A firewire card might also be able to power it Very Happy
