BS neil. As a member of a CHRISTIAN church he should not back down from doctrinal precepts; it may be dogma, but that is what faith is about. Wishy-washy philosophising and social relativity has no place in religion, because religion is as much about "truths" as maths and logic. Either you believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, or you don't, same as you either believe that 0<1 or you don't. You can't relativise.
And, yes. There can be no letup in the war.
Don't forget THEY STARTED IT. Islam has been an aggressive, expansionist force since well before 1000AD.
