anyone used these before? I need it for video of data rate maximum about 1mb /sec but must be able to trigger these clips with no delay

youll get much less delay than with a network drive but there is slightly more than on a internal. I wouldnt think youd notice it tho - get a 8mb 3.5 and possible use firewire it seems to give slightly better responce.

yea definately make sure it has the 8mb cache not the 2mb, will make a huge difference

Only if the data's been accessed recently - remember it's just a cache of recent data, plus some read-ahead too I guess.
