this one has a great lineup. Will look into a bit more.

Ryder - do you know how to get tickets? the website is not that helpful on the ticket front... the line up for this looks so much better than sonar.
[quote]
I take it back - I figured out the tickets online.
[quote]
It's in Serbia?
[quote]
sure is - apparently it is an absolutely amazing setting, near a castle - complete with a moat. The line up is so sweet too...
[quote]
a friend tipped me off about this one, looks pretty damn good!!

Finally being able to see Ritchie Hawtin play somewhere other than bloody awful fabric - in a nice outdoor setting will be wicked.

I've finally been able to muster up the brain power to venture onto the internet.

Exit was huge... Highlights would be Prodigy, Wu tang, Trent Moller and Sanchez.

See you next year!!!

It was monster!

Hey ryder - you weren't one of the several kiwis on the Austrian Airlines flight on the 1st morning of Exit, were you? There was a few kiwis on that flight.

17 things I liked about exit festival, in no particular order (I liked more than 17 things tho, this is just a provisional list ;-P ):

1. Meeting some cool new people on the way there that I saw lots of over there, and it turns out they all live in Norf London too

2. Prodigy on the first night - that was amazing chaos, so many people came to see them when they started it went nuts; I was effectively "jumping" a foot off the ground in time with the beat - without consciously moving any muscles myself!!!!!!! So many excited people all crammed in one place - the leaping and jumping so excited there was no point trying to decide your own movements/direction - the crowd around you had veto over that!

3. At 7am in the morning 7 hours after prodigy, walking back from the dance arena I had to walk though the main stage area (which had finished up by then) and it looked less like Prodigy but more like Hurricane Mitch had blown through - shoes, jackets, jerseys, shirts - even a couple of bags! One of the English girls I met on the plane lost a shoe in Prodigy but found another one - even though the shoe she lost was about a size 6 girls flat black shoe for the left foot, and the one she found was a guys size 10 converse sneaker for the right foot! She spent the rest of the first night walking around with this big sneaker curved around the wrong way on the wrong foot!

4. Groove Armada after Prodigy on the main stage - calmed everyone down a bit Wink

5. Green Velvet in the dance area, great DJ set mixed in with great live tunage from the Green man

6. 30 degrees (plus) highs every day, and lotsa sunshine, while it rained a lot in London!

7. Richie Hawtin - my personal highlight of the festival, a wicked minimal techno set outdoors among the walls of the medieval fortress within which Exit Festival is set, he played the 4am to 6am slot as the sky went from black and starry to bright blue… good thing I took my sunnies!

8. Going on a bit walk through all the various smaller zones of the festival (nearly 30 I think), a favourite of the smaller ones for me was "Café Del Danube", modelled on Café del mar, it was perched on the side of the fortress, overlooking the Danube river across at the old town of Novi Sad - usually playing some ambient form of electronica, and lots of sofas and stuff around to sit on. It was on the west side of the fortress so you could watch the sunset from here too which we did on the last night.

9. Danny Tenaglia in the dance area - finally got to see the big man himself.

10. Basement Jaxx - my favourite of the live acts at Exit, they one of those groups that esp. good live, so much energy on stage

11. 30 degrees (plus) highs every day, and lotsa sunshine, while it rained a lot in London!

12. 120 Serbian dinars for a beer over the bar in the festival, and you get 122 Dinars to 1 British pound… 99p beers!

13. Frank Knuckles and Roger Sanchez one after the other in the dance area - 1am till 3am, and 3am till 5am - we just found our possie and didn't need to move for 4 hours

14. Hanging out at the festival camp stage during the day, listening to cool electro and stonkin house by the like of Jo Mills, just lying on the banks of the danube river, enjoying a beer and watchin all the happy festival peeps enjoying the sunshine.

15. Having a rental car, and being able to go on drives through the Serbian countryside during the day. Went to a Serbian vineyard and bought a nice bottle of Serb-style Riesling for just under the equivalent of £2...

16. Quite a good selection of food at the festival itself, a lot of which was pretty tasty - esp. the pizza that they made from scratch and cooked in front of you, we all agreed it was some of the best pizza we ever had!

17. 30 degrees (plus) highs every day, and lotsa sunshine, while it rained a lot in London! Or did I mention that one twice already?

Cool

Ooh yeah - those temperatures in the last 2 days were baking... 38/39 degrees, talk about roasting, good thing Novi Sad has a decent selection of Gelatti shops!
