Itchy in norway.

I'm inclined to cut him some slack though, it would have been terrible and maybe one way of dealing with it is focusing on meaningless details such as weights and reps..
[quote]
I saw this on the news - what a douche. Like how much weight was relevant to the story Rolling Eyes

Epic douche - some gold comments on the article on tv3 site

Assuming our superhero was shooting for ten reps @ 165kg , one can predict his one rep max would be approximately 220.kg . Check out one rep max calculator. [www.bodybuilding.com] Having said that check the New Zealand power-lifting records, notably the bench press records. [www.nzpowerlifting.co.nz] Quite clearly Cameron should be listed there because he would be one of the strongest athletes in New Zealand , if not the world . Cameron , you reality engineer. Thanks for opening your trap and in the process embarrassing the whole of New Zealand

and

"I use to flat with this guy..... he was a tosser then and he obviously still is. Good to see you can lift 165kg now when back then you couldnt even lift a finger you lazy prick."

[quote]
Even more of a fuckhead than originally thought:

quote:
I do apologize to all New Zealander's and others for making a joke in bad times. Yes I was within 50 meters during the blast. Yes I was in the gym and using the bench press at the time. No I was not lifting 165kgs.
Why did I lie? The joke was supposed to be subtle and focused to friends and family but due to little preparation and nerves of live TV I took this a bit too far without thinking. I do apologize and now wish to make good of this. On the bright side: negative news spurs attention and creates publicity. It seems I have unintentionally succeeded in this and want to make good from this situation.

Sweet time to run an inside joke, fuckwit.

ah right, bit of a dick, but better than what I originally thought when reading the thread title, which was that some guy was djing at the beach while watching the shooting, and naturally, he finished his set.....

Where's that quote from smf? Douchebag imo, but fuck me if he isn't being slated for it on FB etc. It's gone a bit to far now.

You won't find a bench press machine at a crossfit club my friend.

[quote]
Also, god bless the internet. In the good old days you'd say something stupid on tv, you'd be slated for it for a day maybe, then everyone would forget. Now with the internet, people can watch and rewatch and sent it to their friends and start up a Facebook page dedicated to tearing strips off you to the point where you have to hire a PR company to sort it out Laughing

Well I get a bit fed up with the pitchfork mentality of most of the dribbling morons around. It stops being funny once everyone wants to jump on board and take their piece. And cruddy companies cashing in on the coolness of it when it's not really that cool... yeah. 'tards.
[quote]
you know it's not that funny any more once george fm use it to call someone a douche. The next step would have been ZM waking up to it's 'comic' potential.

Why do you always think the acid test for anything is "how many people have jumped on board?".

Are you averse to anything that becomes popular regardless of the actual specifics of the thing in question?

Really? You honestly going to sit/stand there and tell me you don't think this is completely blown out of perportion? douchbag, fuckwit? have you been reading the comments on some of the other news sites? who are we to say when he can and can not crack a in joke.

Its ok to make jokes about a girl that died at the age of 27 from drugs and alcohol, someone that had a real sickness, but its not OK to crack a in joke when you have 1 minute in the lime lite?

No, I'm not that simplistic... but it does tend to work out that way because people ARE kinda dumb. Not my fault. The 'me too' comments on facebook only serve to reinforce that. Sort of conjures up imagery of a cage full of chimps going mental really.... :p

yeah and it was funny at the time, and this thread was fine imo. But people (in the wider community) don't know when to quit.

Oh btw I think I set myself up to be misunderstood slightly...:

the ^^ was pointing at the sentence directly above it, not the entire thread. I started to think it got stupid when the admin of that fb wouldn't shut up, shitty companies cashed in on it, TV3 news fed more of it to us and last of all, despite all of thos alarm bells, people still getting joy out of putting the boot in.
[quote]
Oh come on Re-Action, saying it was a joke is hardly a believable stance. It's easy to use that as a cover after you've made a prize twat of yourself on national TV.

And Smiley, it's a natural reaction to take the piss out of someone who has fucked up. Do you think it would be better if we were all hanging our heads and bemoaning the event? Hardly. It's definitely LOL worthy.

[quote]
besides which he's compounded his douchery by attacking the t shirt guy the way he has
[quote]
he's prob an alright guy. people say stupid stuff all of the time, it's just that this happened to be caught on national tv.
[quote]
I'm not bemoaning the fact that people took the piss out of him... I'm the author of this thread! I took the piss!
cbf explaining it any further I thought I was clear enough and I don't really care.

And yeah his reaction to the shirts was a bit OTT and makes him look silly... but y'know, it takes a very cool and calm or self aware person - or just thoughtful/trained in how these things play out - to not be a dick about shit like that sometimes. Funny so many of us all still take the piss (to the nth degree) when very few of us are much better.
[quote]
Somehow I doubt that you would have behaved like this guy, smiley, which says everything that needs to be said about your comparitive characters, which is why this plonker, spanner, douche, whatever, is where he is.

I feel Sorry for Cam.
Both of his sisters are friends of mine (yes, they see the funny side of this also). He deleted his Facebook account over this.
It wasn't actually meant to go that far... but being on Live tv etc, the nerves kind of got to him haha.
I Don't see why people are making such a huge deal of it, everyone says dumb stuff - Just happened he was on Tv.
[quote]
His reaction just confirmed to a lot of people the assumption that he is a bit of a dick. The best thing to do would have simply been to say "it was a poorly executed attempt at humour, and I am glad something funny has come out of this. I fully expect Mr. Vintage to send me a free teeshirt". And everyone would have gone, "awwwwww... what a guy!"

Suck it up and wait for the kerfuffle to die down, going troppo on facebook is just dumb.
[quote]
How does he think he is going to force Mr Vintage and Tui to donate profits from their "finished my set" ads to charity?

Confused
[quote]
he's obviously strong so I assume he'll threaten them with violence

saome people know when in a hole its best to stop digging, let the people have their cheap laughs and move on

and some are too stupid to realise that life is like the playground - give your detractors and bullies ammo and react when they use it and the situation only continues

he should marry liz shaw

Had it just been left there then sure.. But he's made a total arse of himself by keeping the drama going and making stupid threats. Before he looked a bit silly, now he looks like a dumb cunt.

Yeah, I'll agree with that.

Admittedly only one of the girls has him listed as "family" on Facebook now... I wonder why haha Smile
