Can't even see your DJ profile on Harder Faster let alone a list of ALL of your sets Confused Confused

Not sure how or why a website such as Harder Faster (or any other clubbing website) would list every set a particular DJ has played unless that particular DJ added it to that particular website.

To be honest I'm not so sure why anyone would really want to know Confused Shocked

Sad but true, even though your ability to be friends with someone (whoever that may be) doesn't change your DJing skills. You could be positively crap at playing out but if you know enough 'people' hey all of a sudden you're a whiz - for a few years anyway.
Unless you're into popularity contests' of course... Razz (j/k)

Again, I'm not really sure why anyone would really want to know as to be honest I'd really doubt it would interest to many, if any, people.

Just trying to figure out why he thought everyone/anyone would want to know?? I guess if anyone did they could have found out on HarderFaster anyway Smile

So if I came up to you at a party and said I'm a dj. Being a promoter or some kind you wouldn't then ask the question of where I've played, what parties I've played at or what kind of genres I play.

It's just the same here as if I had spoken it to someone who asked in a club or who I would be telling to promote myself to an interested promoter.

I know how it all works with who you know not what you can do, I've been around long enough to realise, that especially in the London club scene. If I didn't I wouldn't have that list of sets that you so rightly feel is pointless to any one.

I merely put this up because a) I am playing at Nathan's party soon b) I'd like people to check my website and listen to some mixes and c) to make some actual friends in this country while I am here.

Jeez you're all as bad as the jaded clubbers of HarderFaster.

If someone asked you at a party I would have thought the response would have been a few clubs you have played at, a few of the promotions you have played for and the genre(s) you play...not a 10 minute speal reciting your whole career dating back to 2005!!? Correct? So not really the same then is it???

I appreciate you are playing @ Crank and it is great that the DJ's who are playing help promote the event...which I personally fully intend to do as well Very Happy That is why there is a Crank thread so maybe that should have been the thread of choice in order to do so.

ONe could say Jared, your responses in here, are a form of self promotion... However, its not coming off too well...

(just my take on it.. )

So.. everyone center ring... Shake hands .... and play nice...
For CRANK is a cummin!!!!!

haha I wouldn't expect a 10 minute speal either. Whenever I've been put on the spot I can't remember any names anyway been usually too wasted eh. I posted the list, as mentioned before, from the list on my HF dj page (which isnt on show because im not active in the UK any more) that was all. No bigging up, no being a tall poppy.

Anyway like Feisty has said, it's all building up to a big one for Crank !! roll another phat one Jared Wink

Fuck children, play nice ok? Stop being such bitches, it's this sort of shit that fucks up the dance scene. This thread was titled "all about me" and posted by Mat Lock. If you're not interested, why bother commenting? Just don't read it, nobody is making you. I personally think it's good to see people getting themselves out there and can't wait to have Mat play at the next Crank, not only because he's a cool guy but also because he's a wicked DJ! And the fact that he's played at so many awesome parties backs that up. This is a dance forum, everything that was posted is perfectly relevant! I don't agree with whoever said that it's ALL about who you know... obviously that can help but if you can't mix you still won't get anywhere.

Remember what your parents taught you - if you're not going to say something nice (or at least slightly constructive), don't say anything at all. It's good advice. Now be nice and I'll see all you lovely people at Crank Very Happy

Might have to agree to disagree on that one bro, i like to hold onto the notion that (in the end) actions speak louder than words. You can tell more about someone with what they do then what they say imo, as much about communication really is nonverbal. Family has got something to do with that too - damn them... Laughing

Mat, you should play a mix of 'Deep Psychosis' @ Crank maybe... Smile

I may well do Quamay but not the obvious Kandi remix so I'll go with one of the others, or the original as I still love our riff !

I remember accidentally playing our original instead of the Kandi mix once and it still got a great response, even myself who was havin it in the booth !
