Advice on some DYI car madness

K so here is my problem some munter has backed into the arse end of my bummerbar on the left hand side, they have done a runner and pushed my bummer bar into my tyre . There is still gap about 300mm from my backtyre to the bumper.
I rung my dad to have rant and he told me if i take my tyre of put a piece of wood againist the offending bumper and hammer the crap out of it. It should move back into position.
Will this work or will my dads method cost me heaps to fix.
I don't wan to claim insurance because i have alrady had an expenisve wee accident this year and have been quoted extreme prices to get it fixed.
So any words of wisdom would be great

without a pxt its a lil hard but as a general rule your old mans right, I doubt it would cost anymore to fix as a panel beater will have to bash it out or slide hammer it out anyway.

Two of my best mates are panel beaters so I've got a bit of know how, a block of wood and a hammer is probably what they'd use.

it would be great wouldnt it ... Assault and I were thinking ways of enforcing our 'dictatorship' like fast lane for A licienced people .. and everyone else who doesn't pass their A licience get a B one. Reduce privilages would be driving in the slowlane only ... and they would have to display the B sticker on their cars ...

And the A licensed lane has no speed limit or its designated by the car you own and its capabilities
