advice on set

hey ya just wanted to know if this is a good deal, my m8 is selling second hand the following:

2x technics 1200 mk2's
vestax pmc 17A mixer
for $1600 the lot,
Heaps of people have been saying its ok to buy turntables 2nd hand but you should always buy a mixer brand new??
dont know if its wise to buy second hand just dont want to spend more than I have to

if the decks are in good condition.

I accompanied a mate to look at these. There's 1 x 1200 and 1 x 1210 and both are in average condition. The mixer isn't ideally suited to my friends style of music either. If they were in fact 2 x 1200's and they were still in the same condition, you'd have a better shot at getting the asking price. But, when people travel from the North Shore to East Auckland expecting to see 2 turntables the same and see a mismatched set, they get turned off the product pretty quickly. If he had told people they were not a pair, then I guess he would be getting less calls as well??

whats wrong with a 1210??? they look better and are exactly the same....

please correct me if i'm wrong...
