advertising, and why we hate it.......

ok, ads. they are apart of life, but what are the ads you really, REALLY, really hate.? or wut makes a bad add.?

for me, its when the advertisment makes no effort to resemble reality. eg: theres an add on tv at the moment for some fuckin chips (oven fries). and the sound of the 'crunch' when they are being eaten, man, if i ate chips that sounded like that.....its just so unreal. i accept that the point being made is that they are 'crunchy' ships, but comethefuckon, please make adds that are at least realistic. why dont we get any decent adds in this country.?

I severely dislike the kachingo ads, as previously mentioned. Those guys freak me out. :-/

Otherwise, I thought that Firestone ad was quite funny the first time I saw it (the guy poppin' tyres).

Well my g/f didn't wanna come roller blading with me so I brought her a box of Tampons.. WHAT A LOAD OF SHIT!! it just does not work!!

I can't stand ads that are all over websites. Thats why I have them all blocked so I don't have to put up with annoying banner ads.

I like all the bfm ads, now they are all class.

Well, I dont watch TV that much so I cant think of any ads, but of course the ads I hate are probably not targeted at me...
Oh, which reminds me: All those fucking horrible beer ads like Lion Red and Tui, where they have some stupied adventure and lots of exagerated effects. Hate them.

Yeah, though the Tui ad with the mice was fucking dope!

1.) The ad with this white guy crossing his legs in some sort of mediation position and voice over says " This man is pyshic".....
2.) 0900404040- Come on callers join the party... the guys singing sound like they have tampons up their anal tracts.
3.)Lion red bum chin ads, they are so annoying and whats the attraction i think seeing those bumchins wouldn't make me want to drink but spew up.
4.) The ad on Tic Tacs with the cheesy woman that says "Great Huh?"
5.)The Tui Ad - I think i have something against all Beer Ads they are just stupid
6.) Everyone knows i can't stand the TV theme song "i've got 2 babe"

oh, another annoying add, its a bum chin one, wtf is up with those d0rks go'n to the beach in the van with the hell sounds, asking wuts up and the guy saying "nothing man, its flat (suddenly breaking out in a horrible fit on uncontrolled lafter remembering a surf report one day on the b, keith gives the east a zero out of ten because it was flat, then mikey saying the word flat in such a funny way......) then those sto0pid chin thingis rip off dr evil, pump the sounds in an effort to create some hell waves. now forgive me if im wrong, but how the fuck is noise travelling in an offshore direction gunna generate waves.? com'on guys, work yer shit out please. and lion red, get another add agency working for ya.! cause the ones ya got suck ass.!

That very sad ad for phone pub or something, they are sitting at the bar yaddaring on the phone and the line is "Where you can always find a friend", thats just so sad, poor desperate lonely people thats targeted at : (.

Actually amp.lified, I have a theory: Maybe they make the ads Ridiculous so that they can't be had for false advertising. If the ads were too realistic, they'd be liable, where as when they are full of shit, they can say "well, its obvious we weren't serious you'd have to be mentally difficient to not see that".
Maybe thats why... dunno. : )

i also like the Sky tv Advert with the Big island guy and the white dude desperate to watch Rugby. They go to the HESHE club and they Go into the pub and he trips over the tele cord thats a classic.

I got an interesting insight, when I read the airline magazine sits in the pouch at the back of plane seats. On my trip to CHCH I read an article on her and it was very unfavourable. That was interesting seeing as I'd only read favourable reviews in other publications. An insight into what? I dunno, but it seemed to me that seeing as the magazine was owned by Air New Zealand, a big company...

The whole exaggeration thing with ads actually has a name, puffery. U r not actually meant to believe it, just meant to grab ur attention. In most cases the ad standards auth would think u an idiot if u did believe many scenario's in ads

Wouldnt books/tv/movies etc be boring if everything was exactly as it happened? Imagine no Star Wars, Matrix, Lord of the Rings

I hate ads on principle. I hate them because the details of so many can be noted right here by so many people.

Having said that, I like any ads with flashing lights and whirry noises, and a popular song sung with changed lyrics. And perhaps a kitten or two, and, oh, definately a celebrity endorsement.
