I have just bought a macbook for work and with the intention of integrating a live element in to my mixing. So Ive got a few questions:

Anyone have any preference/recommendations for an external sound card? Im looking for a reasonable quality unit. Requirements:
*Be able to record my mixes
*Be able to handle production work (reason, logic, ableton)
*Be able to interface with djm800 (for midi)
*Be able to send computer signal(ableton ) to the
mixer

I have thought about a combined audio interface/midi controller unit like the m audio ozone.

But I'm unsure if it will do every thing I need (see above)

The M audio firewire 410, seems like a good unit, but is much more expensive then the ozone, and does not include a controller. The ozone just seems like a good way to get started.

Also are there any other considerations I should take into account before buying any gear?

I know a few of you on here are using Live! in your sets so would like to know what you use?

And heres an ansi question, what operating system are you running with your live setups? (I only ask as i may have to run a windows OS for work)

Thanks,
Matt
