abandoning american products

i was watching on cnn tonight how palestinian and middle eastern countries are abandoning american products like coca cola, marlboro etc because they dont want to put money into american companies pockets. it said that in the middle east american cigarette sails are down 60%. this in turn is making the american govt more aggressive because its directly contributing to its ailing economy. hence george bush trying to topple governments.

any thoughts on this? solutions?

My thoughts are join em in boycotting American and Israeli goods for as long as they continue the war in Palestine!

I try to buy as little US product as I can.

Funny how they don't mind selling goods to the US hehehe. The goods they are selling a propping up the US economy a heck of a lot more than anything they buy.

How is that trapper. To me that is benefiting palestine much more than the US. The same would be true if we did the same thing.

i'd boycott them but coke just tastes soooooooooo good. i haven't had junkfood in ages tho' and they're all american fast food chains so i guess that helps.

Their oil would be purchased elsewhere, US cigarettes won't be, therefore US will lose sales, palestine won't.

Europe, asia, south america, north america (apart from the US), africa, australasia. If they don't sell oil to the US they will still get it from Saudi Arabia and other friendly countries.

Completely boycotting all American products or chains would be close to impossible I would think. Its a good idea and all but we need to smoke and we need diet coke. Whats a girl to do? Join the 'Fight against America campaign' or be happy in little old safe NZ.
