Ello,

I'm in Malaysia today, and making my way slowly North to the full moon party. I am hoping those who have been before could point me in the direction of a reputable establishment that is not too expensive but on the beach that I could book. In Hat Rin would be great, but if not, how ewasy is it to get back to your room elsewhere on the island via boat/taxi etc?

Also, any other places recommended in Southern Thailand I might want to meander to would be greatfully recieved.

Cheers! Mr. Green

Hey mate, when are you gonna be there? I'll probably be heading to Koh Phangang to kick box round January 20th.

Been to two full moon parties but never actually stayed at Had Rin. It's a bit notorious for having back packers shit stolen from there... but heaps easier staying there than anywhere else as they try to charge through the nose to get you there ... by through the nose though I mean under $10NZD which is cheaper than a taxi in NZ!

One thing - don't believe anyone who says there is no accommodation there. Rock up and look for it yourself.

Check out:

Koh Tao - awesome diving and snorkelling. Really laid back and cruisy
Ko Phi Phi - "The Beach". Awesome place to lax out and read books on beach
Koh Sok National Park - Half way between Surat Tani and Phuket
Railey Beach - You get there from Krabi and they have amazing outdoor rock climbing

That'd be the best of Southern Thailand I think

If you're going to the FMP on January 22nd I reckon I'll be at that one too. When you figure out where you're staying drop me a line and I'll rock up & see if they have another room.

Dude...for sure Smile I am arriving the 20th. Some locals i ran into on Penang island recommend Had Yuan as the palce to stay, the next beach along but only accessible by boat so I will grab a place there. They tell me if i'm there on the 19th there's no issue about booking. PM on it's way Mr. Green
