I’m on the hunt for a venue for my 30th bash in early July. It needs to have a min capacity of 30, max 60, and ideally be a separate private room, attached to a larger bar with a DJ.

Something like the Westbury in Kilburn (But I already know that one!).

I want it in Shoreditch / Old Street so I can hit the town afterward, but something that opens till 2am would be preferred too.

Of course if there’s a proper decent bar anywhere else north of the river you know, I’d love to hear about it.

Has anyone DJed, hired or just hung out at anything that might fit the profile?

Have you been to Sosho? It may fit the bill. I went to a birthday there last year, was pretty good, I'm not sure whether they have a separate private room (though their site says they do), I only saw spaces/large booths that people can book.

Snap - funny you should mention Sosho. I started off my 30th at The Tabernacle, which is next door to it. Haven't been there but remember walking past and thinking it looked like a cool place to try out.

Not many places have a seperate room in Shoreditch that I know of, although Home Bar does I think. It's a house cocktail bar. Don't know what it would be like on a saturday night as it's not too far from Liverpool St which can be dead in the weekends since it's primarily a business area.

Oh yeah - there's also 93 Fleet East on Brick Lane. That could be good - it has a private function room with bar. I went to a 30th there once.

Sosho is sadly a min 2.5K take and I can't guarantee that amount of alcohol! Not with 50 people.

93 feet east says on the viewlondon website that they're open only till 9pm on weekends. I thought that might be odd. I'll call them tomorrow. And homebar too.

Keep 'em coming! And yeah i'd been using viewlondon.com...will try squaremeal too. Mr. Green
