So i have decided to give this digital format thing a go. I have a whole lot of tunes waiting to be downloaded on my Beatport account. Is there any way i can just purchase certain tunes from the hundreds of tunes i have waiting to be downlaoded or do i have to buy them all at once?????

Help !!!! Music

I'd love to comment but your question doesnt make any sense to me. When and only when you buy them do they become available for d/l. And then you have plenty of time to d/l them. And they sum up all the purchases in 24hours and charge you in one hit.
Is that useful or not?

You can only download them after you buy them bro. Smile

They enter you library and once in there you have heaps of time to download them when you're ready.

Yes you have to buy all tunes at once.

Your not meant to use the checkout as a holding bay for all the tunes you might want to purchase some day, that's what your brain is for. jk.

Possibly you could start another account and just checkout the ones you actually want though.

They'll be sitting in your checkout, not your library. Tunes only enter your library after you've bought them.

In fact I think that once you log out, your check out will empty... It's happened to me once when my internets crashed mid-shopping.

I'd say your not being picky enough then. I might build up to 30 tracks over a couple of weeks then cut them down to 10 and purchase but I still end up with a few duds.

Like I said create a new account if possible otherwise your going to have to clear them out one by one.

best thing is to write it down(those you dont want to buy immediately)

I have always wondered about this, surely they have it in their plans an option to buy only some in your checkout list.

I actually sent them a suggestion for a 'crate' or 'wishlist' function (similar to amazon) that you could use to tag tunes for consideration later.

Clearly they listened Sad

Question: Sometimes I get this feeling that the tunes I get off beatport has a lower sound quality than ones off say, trackitdown - even if they are both at 320kbps.

I don't know if it's just me or if it is something to do with the way the different sites encode (or what they use to encode) their files.

I have some tunes on vinyl which I have purchased in a digital format off beatport, and then realised that the bass (especially) sounds muffled on the digital format, which leads me to think that it is due to the encoding or compression?

On the other hand, I have tunes which I own on vinyl and have purchased digital formats off from trackitdown too, and experience no such loss.

I'm not sure if this variation in quality is due to the tune itself, or the sites. Anyone here have any thoughts on this?

Vinyl always sounds better than digital at the low end especially.

Yup Smile

I am aware that this is the case especially since I mainly buy mp3s as opposed to wav files...

But it's just that it seems to me that Beatport's files seem to be that much more lacking than other sites?

I suppose the only way to find out for sure is to download the same tune off Beatport and another site.

yeah give that a go. i'd be keen to know if there is a difference.. Smile

hey bro,
go to the 'my account' page that is up where you log in.
change your settings to 'instant download'
this means when you click the buy button it automatically purchases the track.
then open your checkout litst and listen to the tracks.
any tracks you want to buy, you can purchase by clicking the buy button on the player. Then delete from your checkout list.

I have about $450 worth of tunes that have been piling up over the last year. every couple of weeks i go back and buy the ones in that list i really want.

easy.
