I wouldnt say dicks, just that the average Aussie male regardless of socio-economic background or race has a level of self-esteem and confidence that most NZ men unfortunately feel confronted by.

Sure its annoying every so often, however in terms of what it does for the general vibe around the place I think its a very positive thing that people feel empowered and speak their mind.

Aussie womens minds work the same way as all other women across the globe, they arent attracted to arseholes unless they can bring something pretty awesome to the table in terms of looks, personality, money, sporting prowess, rumoured huge penis or general awesomeness. And if you have any of those plus some humility to boot then that will go a long way with them.

Heavy Auckland NZ girl accent is way more annoying than a Melbourne or Sydney accent!

Kiwi accent is very stilted, whereas the Aussie flows a lot more and is more conducive to good discourse rather than short exchanges.

Saying that, ours is cooler and tougher than the Aussie accent.

Having lived in Melbourne for over a year now, my experience has been that Aussie people (both sexes) are noticeably more friendly/positive here than in Auckland. However, moving to a new city/country has obviously forced me to meet a lot of new people and pursue opportunities to experience new things more than normal, so I guess some of the feeling could be caused by that..

aussie dude on my top deck trip through europe just about ruined the trip for many people. he was just a loud mouthed drunken boor who didn't engage his brain before opening his mouth. that was the consensus among many of the aussie girls on the trip as well. his wife was lovely though....
