What's New

There's more than one way to put that built-in camera to use - like sending photos as MMS messages or making new wallpapers for your phone. You can also add photographs to your phone book so you can put a face to the name of the person who's calling.

Tune out of the hustle and bustle and tune in to the FM radio, either with the headset or the loudspeaker - both of which can also be used for handsfree calling.

Put more into your Java™-enabled Nokia 6610i phone and you'll get more out of it - such as Time Out Mobile City Guides, converters, and other applications. You can also order add-on applications for business and pleasure from Nokia Software Market.

It'll come out at the same price as the 6230 and won't have Bluetooth Rolling Eyes

I don't see any point in spending more than $400 on a phone that only has a 4096 colour camera.

With the 6230 and 6600 both out now, I think you've either gotta be buying one of those, spending very little on something that just calls and texts, or saving your money for when 6230 and 6600 technology becomes more affordable.

Cost... and availability... Internationally there are shortages of Bluetooth chips and memory...

I was looking at this and the 6100. The 6100 looks like a nice phone, very small, and with most of the modern features except camera and bluetooth. In the end I decided the only real advantage over my two year old 6610 is that it had a color screen, which isn't worth $500 to me.

wouldn't buy a 6610i for personal use either, but thats not where Nokia is targeting it. As with the 6610 they are after the business community, probably through mass contracts... would much rather have the 6600, sexy old square thing that it is, but the business community still looks for more traditional design...

yeah, very good point.

loving the picture quality on the 6230... some of them just blow my mind... they are like a low quality digicam, not a phone!
