Don't know what happened to the 1st & 2rd Resistance.
The whole presentation of the .3rd is tied into experiments I have been making at the fringes of raves for the past few years.
Having always played a fairly minimal glitch edge of Techno .. it was difficult to get sets in main zones or even chill out spaces.
Eventually I gave up and started inserting renegade sound systems into the areas between zones. I used to play a lot of beat free glitch noise, strange samples, sound scape and ambient stuff.
This evolved into some fairly elaborate setups with multiple channels of open microphone running through delays, sine wave generators running directly in to sub bins .. and other various computers generating soundscapes from field recordings and the like.
The .3rd Resistance is trying to tie the whole package back together around main sound system.
Eventually I imagine a crew of people working together to deliver sound to multiple systems simultaneously.
Sort of like a multi-media Techno orchestra or something.
I've been doing parties for over 15 years now .. and pretty board with the formats. In certain environments I really want to push the boundaries and try new things.
Techno in a modern format using midi, networking, and DAW software is really conducive to people working together in multi layered environments.
This year I am hoping to get some experimental noise artists, ambient djs, live instrumentalist & techno Dj's all working together inside a networked series of sound systems.
Does it all sound like bunch of chaos? Sure, but we are all experienced dance heads with an understanding of vibe, why not work together.
This is a performance with social & political themes that challenges the prevailing ideology of how societies and systems function.
It is my attempt to create an open source system with a real Techno edge.
Besides, we have the gear and the knowledge and the time, so why not have some crazy messed up fun.
