Rumors surrounding a million dollar hypercar modeled after fighter planes turned out to be true when Lamborghini and the Volkswagen Group revealed the Reventon on Monday evening before the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The car was previewed even earlier over the Monterey weekend at a Santa Monica Airport where potential owners saw a 1/4 scale model and a quick video. $100 000 deposits rolled in and the Reventon was sold out before most knew it even existed.

This is such a car-maker cliche. Most aerodynamic ideas used in cars have their history in either aeronautics or motorsport. It's nothing new at all.

Wouldn't it make more sense and be more impressive to say a car was modeled on a GT1 series Le Mans car rather than a jet, a vehicle with no relevant technology in traction/brakes, gearbox, drive-train, handling etc? Shit, fighters probably don't even have stereos.

Car looks awesome though.
