Timbaland Is Tops!

Timothy Mosley (aka Timbaland) has taken his longest climb to hit the top with his third #1. If We Ever Meet Again debuted way down at #37 during Christmas week last year.
Now in its ninth chart week, it ascends from #2 to #1 swapping places with the song that was on top that week. After the third longest run in the penthouse by a Kiwi act, and double platinum sales, Stan Walker’s Black Box slips to #2 while holding the airplay crown for a seventh frame.

All three of Timbaland’s #1s have been with the help of another artist. In 2006 the five-week #1 Promiscuous took just three weeks to make the summit with the help of Nelly Furtado. His second with OneRepublic was Apologize which moved to the top in its eighth week and held for seven consecutive times.

On If We Ever Meet Again vocals are by recent American Idol guest judge Katy Perry. It gives her a second time on top following on from her 2008 debut I Kissed A Girl which ruled for a solitary week after an eight-week climb.

3D J

Just as J.Williams remodels his #5 Young Love debut album, he returns to the Top40 for a sixth time with another track from that set.
Highest new entry this week at #12, You Got Me features Scribe, who collects his seventh ink. It returns Scribe to the list for the first time in over two years. His 2003 double-sided #1 Stand Up / Not Many still remains the longest-running local chart-topper ever, taking five goes to amass its 12-week total.
Back to J, and he does one thing no other Kiwi act has done thus far: a 3D video clip for You Got Me.

#17 Artists For Haiti – We Are The World 25 For Haiti
A second charity hit for Haiti arrives at #17. Following on from Justin Timberlake and Matt Morris’ #8 Hallelujah comes a remake of USA For Africa’s 1985 seven-week chart-topper We Are The World. #29 Young Money featuring Lil Wayne – Bedrock
This is where it gets a little tricky. Young Money the artist is actually a collaboration of acts on Young Money the label established by Lil Wayne. And Bedrock, new at #29, is lifted from forthcoming We Are Young Money album. Lil Wayne now totals 12 chart hits here.

#37 Taylor Swift – Today Was A Fairytale
