Silo Park Update 25th January 2012
Friday 26th January from 5pm – late
This week at Silo Night Markets and Cinema we present a wonderful array of food stalls and unique wares plus the incredible film ‘Oceans’. This week we are happy to announce a short presentation will be given before the film by the founder of Sustainable Coastlines, Sam Judd, and all proceeds from popcorn sales go toward the charity for the month of January.
Tina Turntables provides an excellent soundtrack to start the evening off from 5pm with over 20 stalls of food, art and craft including Fly By Night Vintage, Sitka, Foxes, Belle & Beau Clothing and many more including street food & the pop up container bar. As the sun sets make sure you’ve got a comfy spot and a tub of popcorn to watch ‘Oceans’ (M) projected onto the majestic Silo 7.
‘Oceans’ begins at 9pm.
Saturday 27th January from midday – 5pm
The Arc presents Silo Sessions with DJ sets from Scratch 22 and Paydirt.
The Arc is an ongoing musical and community project from Scratch 22, Paydirt and Legal Money Mike. The idea of creating events for and with the creative community in Auckland has carried over into their skate shop, Arcade. Through these two entities they work to create a place for youth culture in Auckland to flourish.
THE ARC’s Silo Session will be a showcase of some of the things the do in the community – including running a store, which will be stocked with clothing, art and skateboards from their shop Arcade. There will be a skate competition running in Silo 7 itself and the music will be supplied by THE ARC and friends.
Silo Markets will be open from midday continuing our biggest weekend yet of art, craft and food stalls including Whimsy Fix, Bonjour Sweetie, Trash Footwear, Belle & Beau Clothing, Bliss In A Teacup and more.
