Quickflix to Stream to Microsoft Xbox 360 in Australia and New Zealand
Quickflix Limited ASX: QFX (Quickflix) and Microsoft NZ are pleased to announce that Quickflix movies and TV series will stream through the popular Xbox 360 console in Australia and New Zealand. The subscription streaming service, which offers unlimited viewing of available titles and series for a low monthly fee, will be available to Xbox LIVEGold subscribers in Australia and New Zealand later in 2012.
The agreement with Microsoft significantly boosts Quickflix’s addressable market by reaching the Xbox 360 audience in Australia and New Zealand and adds to its growing range of connected devices already enabled for Quickflix streaming including major CE brand smart TVs, game consoles, tablets, mobile phone, PCs and Apple Macs.
In a joint statement Quickflix’s Executive Chairman, Stephen Langsford, and CEO, Chris Taylor, said: “This is a great new partnership, and will bring the Quickflix streamed entertainment service to the Xbox community across both countries. We’re committed to making home entertainment easier for people, and this is our latest step towards providing people the biggest choice possible of how to watch the TV shows and movies they love – whether it’s on a mobile device, Smart TV or games console.”
New Zealand Xbox Lead Steven Blackburn comments that “Quickflix represents a great addition to the Xbox LIVE entertainment experience. We’re excited to partner with such a renowned content provider and we hope New Zealand Xbox 360 users are just as pleased!”
Xbox 360 customers will join other Quickflix streaming subscribers accessing Quickflix range of Hollywood movies from studios such as Warner Bros, Sony Pictures, NBC Universal, MGM, Lakeshore, Pinnacle Films and award-winning premium TV series from the BBC and ITV.
