Ourhouse nite:life was once again a stomper of a night. Held at the Ellerslie events centre, this venue had 6 rooms in total giving everyone a wide choice of DJ’s.

Turning up at just before 12pm, it was proven that the party had well and truly started. Performances by Mark Emerson, General Lee and Dick Johnson in the main room must have been of top notch caliber as the place was pumping. We checked out TV Rock with Ruby who showed the kiwi crowd a bit of filthy Aussie beats. It was time to check out the rest of the floors so we headed upstairs to see Bang Gang who showed some top international quality tunes and skills to an upbeat and thriving crowd. Sam Hill was in the electro room which where most of the harder, gritty, distorted beats were played. He let off an awesome set as usual with a cracker selection of tunes.

We raged to KO88 before heading down stairs to catch Tim Phin’s set. Phins set was certainly one of the best for the night with a heavier and dirtier house sound than usual. The whole floor was packed and going crazy. After being destroyed by most of his set we headed back up top to catch the kiwi legend Greg Churchill. As usual this set was full of the best and most amping beats. His skills were that of the internationals if not better. Karn Hall was in the One Love room. This room was nice and sweaty and gave an underground feel to it. Greg Churchill was followed by the equally as good Angela Fisken while UK DJ Darren Emerson was in the main floor.
At around 4am the Beat Mafia arrived and the crowd did not know what to expect. Suddenly the grittiest dub step broke out. I have never seen anyone dislocate their shoulders before by I could tell it was getting close with this amping and raging crowd. The Dubstep went down a treat and proved that many ravers are fans of one of the newer genres to hit NZ.

Our:House was a top night, right from the time you walk in the door to the time you leave. I was gutted to miss other DJ’s on the night such as Cam Robertson, Rich Carey, Audio Harassment and the Djs in the more intimate and VIP rooms however I’m sure they all had awesome sets. Staff and lighting were tops. We certainly look forward to seeing what Remix & Our:House bring to us in the future.
